Objectives

  • To combat malnutrition and help making India Malnutrition free
  • To provide real-time monitoring of the nutritional status of women and children
  • To implement targeted interventions viz. Take-Home Ration (THR), Hot cooked Meal (HCM), vaccination for Infants and Pregnant Women

Benefits and Impact

  • Provides nutritional services to 101 Million beneficiaries
  • Tracks last mile service delivery through 1.3 Million Anganwadi Workers
  • Serving 12 Million women & 89 Million children up-to the age of 6 years

Implementation Methodology

  • UI/UX: Easy-to-use mobile application to Aanganwadi Workers to perform their daily task
  • Technical: Modular configuration and CI/CD approach of development followed
  • Administrative: firstly, State Officials were on-boarded, then, they self-configured administrative structure and thereafter,Aanganwadi Workers were onboarded, and they in turnonboarded beneficiaries.
  • Monitoring: Real-time, daily, and weekly basis at multiple level
  • Capacity Building: Regular training and hand holding for entire state machinery and aanganwadi workers

Modalities of implementation

For adoption in any country following aspects may be duly taken care.

  • Beneficiaries to have a unique identification number.
  • Institutional structure which governs policies and processes; and holds a command till last mile coverage
  • Governance structure to have ladder approach with small monitoring and reporting units (In Poshan Tracker we follow State/District/Project/Sector/Aanganwadi center/beneficiaries)
  • Beneficiaries to have a mode of communication e.g. mobile phone.
  • Feedback mechanism for consistent improvisation
  • Grievance redressal platform along with call center support
  • Strong adoption team in field required to support the onboarding and train the end user
